unbroken

hello everyone. so i haven't blogged in a long while. i've been taking a break from a lot of internet sites, but now i'm back! so lots has happened since i last blogged, the major thing (music wise) being that demi's new album unbroken came out. i've been in school also, which keeps me busy. fun released a new single "we are young" which is pretty amazing :) so now we get to the review of unbroken. i've been a demi fan since the beginning, and i've loved her music since the beginning. i was extremely excited when i found out demi was coming out with a new album- her last one here we go again came out two years ago- and i was very impressed and inspired by her story and struggle and how she spoke about her problems openly instead of covering it up.
my review of her album is as follows-
1. skyscraper- literally her biggest hit ever in terms of sales and radio play, amazing soulful song about the journey she went through in the past year. at first i didn't like the vocals so much but when i found the story behind those particular vocals i really admired them. 5/5

2.all night long- going to be her next single. very upbeat, very different for demi. featuring missy elliot and timbaland. they lyrics are a little too pop-y for me, but overall it is a catchy, upbeat song. 4/5

3. who's that boy- my least favorite song on the album, but i'm not a fan of dev or the hip/hop/pop style music that this song consists of. i think it can be catchy, but it's just not my favorite, and i don't think it shows of demi's voice well. 1/5

4. you're my only shorty- features iyaz.at first i hated this song and the name- what girl wants to be called a guy's shawty? but i joked with my friend that we would end up cruising in my car with the windows rolled down singing it, and that is exactly what happened. this song is catchy, shows off her vocals well, and makes you smile. even though it's a weird title/message, i still love it. 3/5

5. together- features jason derulo. this is a typical treat each other well song, but i really like it. demi's vocals are amazing in this song. 3.5/5

6. lightweight- i love this song. although, the main lyrics are i'm a lightweight/ easy to fall easy to break. honestly i think the word lightweight is a strange description for this song, i would have replaced that word, but i still love it.
4/5

7. unbroken- expected a ballad from this song about how she's unbroken after all she's been through, but it's very different. i adore this song. it's such a great dance song and very funky and unique. 5/5

8. fix a heart- without a doubt my favorite song on the entire album. just listen to it. 10/5

9. hold up- often on albums there are 1 or 2 songs that i like, but don't love that i end up loving later. i think this may be one of those songs, but right now it's not my favorite. 3/5

10.mistake- great song, but sounds too much like a rihianna song to me. 3.5/5
11. give your heart a break- at first this was just another song on here that i thought was too pop-y, but the more i listen to it the more i like it. i love the violin part, and the beat is great. the chorus is very catchy. 4/5
12. in real life- i can never decide if i love or hate this song... the background "real life" really annoys me. overall 3/5
13. SUCH a christina agurlara song. that's all i have to say. 3/5
14.for the love of a daughter- was originally going to be on here we go again but demi pulled it at the last minute due to the difficult lyrics. heart-wrenching, phenomenal song. 5/5



i can't give this album an overall score. it seems the album is split in two of pop songs and soulful ballads with a pop twist. it seems there are two extremes to this album, and it is very very different from any of her previous songs. i liked the style of her songs better before, for pop i'm more of a pop/rock gal rather than a pop/hip-hop girl. but her vocals and sincerity are the best on this album. the album doesn't seem completely connected, with all the "feat.'s" at the beginning, followed by pop songs, progressively changing into soulful songs. as a fan of demi who's happy to finally seeing her do so well i don't want to say that the album is disordered, it is obviously her best work so far, but i will say i was expecting something really different. i'll be a demi fan for life, but i'll continue to call her my favorite female artist if her music grows a little more with her.

Window Panes

school is tiring. i am tired. but, it's labor day weekend which makes me happy. i just washed the lake water and sand out of my hair, changed into a comfy outfit, and started watching a chick flick. i've only had homework once since school started, but it's still tiring. recently i've been obsessed with band of horses and the shins. also, the VMA's were last sunday, and they were really great. young the giant gave an amazing performance. i don't have too much to say but i wanted to blog because it's been a while since i did. i built a big sand castle and moat today. it was fun. tonight we're going to my favorite restaurant. i'm tired and i should stop rambling, so this will just be a short post! until next time,

What the music gave me

the first week of school has been great and awful. for some strange and insane reason the school i go to does not have air conditioning. i live in a desert. it has been sickeningly hot in school this week, and it's getting very hard to be in that environment. so far i like my classes and teachers, and i'm excited for the school year. i'll get to work on my altered book again this year in art, which i'm very excited for. i'm also news editor for our school newspaper and photographer so it's going to be crazy in that class! today we cleaned out the creepy cupboard that hasn't been cleaned out since the school was built, (50's) and we found a hand waxer. it was weird. don't worry though, there were two boxes of wax to go with it. another class i am enjoying is my office aid class. basically, i just answer phones and write street passes and deliver notes to students. i find that sort of work very fun. now on to the music part! i'm running a little low on funds right now so i don't have much new music this week, but i can say that the more songs i get from foster the people's new album, torches, the more i love it. florence + the machine also came out with a new single this week, and it's pretty great. tomorrow i have a free period first period, which means i get to sleep in an extra two hours. technically i could sleep in longer if i wanted, but i want to be awake an hour before school starts. i'm so exhausted. you forget just how tired you can get in the summer because you can always go to bed when you want and wake up when you want. with school, you go to bed when you're done with homework and wake up when you need to go to school. there's no leniency. so, i'm very happy to have a free period. that's all i have to say for today. yesterday was wednesday, so i did update my "weeklies"

Changing

it will be an interesting school year. i am front page editor for my school newspaper, so that will keep me quite busy. i am also taking pre-calc and ap gov. other than that, i am taking pretty basic and easy classes. i'm taking 2 art classes, a multimedia design class, a free period, a study hall and english. i think i definitely deserve to have a mostly easy school year after all i went through last year. it's my senior year and i plan to take every experience i can from it. i want to go to football games and school dances and concerts and show up dressed to the nines one day and in sweats the next and feel fine in both. i want to let my worries float away. i want to go to the sunrise breakfasts with all the other seniors and blast music from my car speakers. I want to find someone to fall in love with. i want to stand in the graduation line and cry with all my friends and say i did it. most of all, i want to laugh until i cry, and smile until my muscles hurt.

Stereo Hearts

hello! so school starts tomorrow, and i got my schedule. it looks like i have a pretty great schedule for this year! i'm strangely excited... tomorrow i have to go to all classes and then the hello day assembly, it will be busy and a little crazy~!though sunday's mean that school is the next day i always feel like sunday night is peaceful as long as i don't have any procrastinated homework! just the feeling of sitting in my room with my lamps and lanterns on listening to music freshly showered and picking out my clothes for the week feels so nice. so, now for the world of my passion- music. demi lovato released her album cover for her new album, unbroken, that comes out september 20th. here it is!

i love it and i am so excited for some new ddlovato music!!! what else? i heard the song stereo hearts for the first time this week and i adore it! well, i'm gonna clean up my room and take a shower. until next time...

Let this go

school starts on monday. just had to put that out there. i find it to be rather saddening.i have to say, the new promo for psych is kind of amazing, they've always had some great promos but i really adore this one. what else do i have to say? i am starting to read a book called julliet immortal, and so far it's and really great. i went back to school shopping this week and i got a
bunch of really cute stuff :) i got a cute black sheer dress with some flowers on it, 2 pairs of leggings, a ring, 2 pairs of earrings, a baseball style shirt, a long grey t-shirt that says there's no place of rome, 2 paris of jeans, a cropped striped shirt, some sweat pants, black heel ankle boots and an empire waisted dress with bright abstract flowers all over it. i haven't gone shopping for more than one thing in a long time! it's been a long and stressful week though and i'm really exhauseted. my great grandpa who i'm really close to hasn't been doing so well this past week, so it's been really stressful. i think the song that describes my week is turn it off. i can't explain why i relate to music so much, but it really helps me. i can't wait for bones and psych this october. and then chuck! so many good new seasons coming soon! and demi's new album, unbroken on september 20th! school may start on monday, but i have a lot to look forward to.

The Tip of the Iceburg

hello! i'm sitting listening to music, looking at the moon reflect off the lake and waiting for the meteor shower to start :) there's also a beautiful full moon tonight! i spent the day at the beach today, swimming with the fishes and i discovered something: there are frogs! i never knew there are frogs! how did i never know this? how did i not spend my childhood catching frogs and naming them (yes i was a bug loving snail catching worm saving sort of child) i will from now on make it my mission to catch a frog. and release it again, of course. school starts in a little over a week, which is scary. what is awesome about school starting is that i can go clothes and shoe shopping :) let's see... what else have i been up to? oh, i'm watching the awful awful 90's show, twin peaks with my friend emma. it's truly awful, but so bad it's good. demi's new album, unbroken, comes out september 20th. i'm so excited!!!! i've always been a huge demi fan :) i got feathers in my hair, which i've been wanting to do forever (even before they were popular, so it's annoying that everybody has them now!) i think they look really cool. i don't think i've mentioned it before, but i'm really sad that this season is the closer's last season! psych and bones both return in october though, which is very exciting :)

After The Storm

yesterday was my birthday. i had a great birthday, i spent the day watching the so-bad-it's-good- show twin peaks with my friend emma. then i went out to dinner with my family and cake with my grandparents. right now, i am sitting outside on my deck with my new laptop eating chocolate cake and listening to music. as my dad says, well this doesn't suck :)school starts in less than two weeks, which is pretty alarming. my summer was great, but it really feels like it just flew by. i'm officially a huge fan of mumford & sons, which could be a problem :P
i don't have too much to say today, as i always do, so i guess i'll bid you farewell for now.

hello all! i haven't blogged in so long, it's strange..... so i'm sitting here with my lovely friend emma listening to taylor swift on a lovely summer day... could it get any better? i don't think so. since i haven't blogged in a while, i must do a music update. so, first of all, i know i've always said i hate mumford and sons, but their songs little lion man and the cave are growing on me, so i guess i'll give them another chance ;) second, i discovered a new band that i love: the lonely forest. their song coyote (my song of the week) is available for free on amazon right now, and their cd is only $5 and it's incredibly awesome and worth it :) lastly, i got the modest mouse cd, good news for those who love bad news. i love the transitions between the songs and how they all flow together nicely :) oh! and how could i forget? demi lovato's amazingly heartfelt comeback song, skyscraper. amazing, soulful, and gave me chills the first time i listened to it. so, forever came out. and. it. is. beyond. amazing. i love it soooooo much! great conclusion to the trilogy, but i am definitely sad that it is the last one :( (you hear that maggie? how bout a cole/isabelle spin off? *COUGH COUGH HINT HINT!!!!* teehee. well, warped tour is soon. i really need to buy my ticket so i can see... RELIENT K!!!! so excited :) not too much happening on the home front, just enjoying my summer as it goes by way too fast. i'll blog again soon :)

Stitch Me Up

i haven't blogged lately because i've been upset. my cat fenway was taken by a coyote and he's gone. i just want to start by saying i really miss him. we the kings album came out this week, and i think it's their best album yet. next tuesday, forever, the third and final book in the shiver trilogy come out. i'm really excited. i don't really have too much to say. two shows that i am now addicted to are suits and nessicary roughness. you should check them out. also, i went to see larry crowne and it was really great. much better than i expected. that's all i have to say today, my post was short but i felt like saying something.

beneath the sand

hello everyone. so relient k's cover ep comes out in 3 4 days. i am very excited :) i've said it, but owl city's new album all things bright and beautiful and ocean grove's new ep, another place to stay, are both amazing. something wonderful happened to me. itunes had a glitch and refunded me two song credits because the price of an album i bought was lowered two dollars, which is all normal, but they sent it to me 20 times. i got 40 free song credits, and they told me to keep them :) so, basically i got 40 free songs. i've been taking care of my cat because he had surgery yesterday. soon i have to go give him antibiotics, which is rather difficult considering he loathes them. tomorrow i have to take my grandparents to church and go to the gym, but then i get to go to the arts festival :) i'm excited! last year i got a really cool picture frame for my room that is made out of tiny hand painted mosaic tiles. i'm hoping to get something unique tomorrow. that's about all i have time for tonight because i have to get up early tomorrow, and it's already midnight. until next time,

Comet Come Down

hello! i had a loverly weekend. my friend berry was watching her dad's house and pet-sitting and such and i have had lots of fun hanging out with her this weekend :) i trained her dogs gracie and maddie to sit and lie down, which was awesome. i also tried to feed her fish (and catch them with my hands) while keeping the two ducks, (edward and bella because they're adorable together and totally love each other and the male is way protective of her) away from the fish food. I also discovered that i love old navy. i'd never been there before yesterday, and i got a whole bunch of cute things for really cheap :) i got two new cotton pj bottoms, some terry cloth pj shorts, a bright orange dress, swimsuit and swimsuit shorts and a new shirt :) today was fathers day, and i made my dad a really cool shadow box from our trip to D.C together. he liked it :) so something tragical ( :P ) happened. my phone/ipod broke, which i mentioned before, but it is still not fixed. so i have had no phone. but more importantly, no ipod. it's been quite sad. supposedly it will be fixed tomorrow tho :P once again, i want to strongly recommend you check out owl city's new album, all things bright and beautiful. OH! and relient k's new cover album comes out on the 28th :)

All Things Bright And Beautiful

hey everyone. so of course, if you have been reading my blog posts recently you know that this week the new owl city song all things bright and beautiful came out this week, and i can most defiantly say i was not disappointed. i thought that lots of the ocean eyes songs sounded too much alike, but i think ever song on all things bright and beautiful is a truly amazing and unique album. my favorite songs are hospital flowers, plant life, kamakazi, honey and the bee, and deer in the headlights. honestly, do yourself a favor and go pick up a copy. so summer has come and i'm finally adjusting to my new routine. it looks like i MIGHT have gotten a job... :D so far i've only broken the "wearing skirts and dresses all summer" once. which is pretty amazing :) today i had to deal with a whole bunch of shitty stuff involving my car and my phone, but it's all good :) i'll figure it out. right now one of my best friends in the whole world amelia is on her way here and we haven't hung out in FOREVER. so, i should go hang out with her. until next time,

hello everyone. so paramore's new song monster came out and it is amazing :) i've listened to it about 3,000 times now. i do not have too much to say, but the new seasons of covert affairs and white collar premiered this week and they were great :) i've also been watching conan a lot lately and i really love it. the whole wearing only dresses and skirts for summer summer is going well, but i know i'm probably not going to be able to do it the whole time :P on saturday i have to take the ACT's which is not exciting. luckily, it's the only school related thing i have to do this summer. lots of good music comes out this summer :) SUCH AS RELIENT K'S COVER EP! they revealed that the first song is going to be girls just wanna have fun, and i am so excited for it! new relient k music = a very happy happy me! btw, if any of you have a twitter, my twitter username is relientkmusic so if you have one, follow me and i'll follow you :) that's all i really have to say for today, not too much interesting stuff going on with me. until next time,

hey everyone. i am free! i am free! I AM FREE! i am done with my jr. year of high school, and i am so glad i am. i went to washington d.c with my dad last week, and it was awesome. i'd never been before so i got to see all that fun historic stuff :P also, last week death cab for cutie's new album, codes and keys came out. it is beyond amazing :) i don't know if i already mentioned this, but i am also really loving panic at the disco's new album, vices and virtues. so the mtv music awards were last night, and they were pretty great. of course twilight won pretty much everything, but the best kiss moment was hilarious. if none of you have watched it, you'll just have to find out what happened for yourself ;) i dub this summer the summer of dresses. i am going to try to wear nothing but dresses all summer. we'll see how that goes, but so far so good :) yesterday i wore my new sheer navy blue flower dress with a new grey lace vest and today i wore my blue polka-dot dress with a cropped knit shrug thing. i love dresses :) i was just thinking of this today, but if you have never read the death by bikini series, you really should. it's amazing :) I've been doing a lot of stuff for my grandparents lately, which has been keeping me busy. for the summer, i don't have much planned, but i'm happy about that. i really need some time to relax. but these ARE some things i'm looking forward to :)

hello. so i started doing my 30 day song challenge, but i was out of town for the weekend so first i have to tell you the songs of the days i missed :)

so it's been a while. i've been busy. and going through stuff. and busy. and such. BUT i have 2 days of school left and then i'm heading to D.C :) i also got insanely sick, which was not fun at all. i'm still really sick but i have to fight through it. like right now? the entire room is spinning. which is fun. let's see my friends, what has happened since the last time we chatted? well, probably a lot. let's see! love strong by christina perri came out. i'd give it a 3/5. all the songs are great and she has a beautiful voice, but they all sorta sound the same. fun and panic! at the disco did a collaboration on their song c'mon, and it is pretty damn amazing. as i'm sure you know, born this way came out. i didn't get it, but i did get my favorite song off of it, you and i. i adore that song. it was on the monster ball so i saw it then :) what else my little friends? hmmm... well i rewatched all of bones seasons 1 and 2. SPEAKING OF THAT! the epic and amazing chuck and bones finales! chuck? adorable. amazing. they got married. sarah lived. they got renewed for a 5th (and final) season. then there is bones. all i can say is HOLLY $#!@! there's gonna be a baby teeley!<3 <3 <3 finally. finally. Paris (Oh La La)

hello everybody. so "where she went" sequel to "if i stay" was released on tuesday, and it is phenomenal. officially 2nd favorite series. i loved if i stay, and if you haven't read it, you really should. if you have read it, where she went is told from adam's perspective, three years later and it really is just an amazing book. most of the chapters start off with verses from songs that adam's band, shooting star has written and they're amazing. of course, i love that considering anything that has to do with music or songwriting fascinates me beyond belief. i had where she went preordered, and amazon actually sent it to me a day early so i finished it on tuesday. i'm also reading need and the sequel captivate. i finished need, and i'm almost done with the sequel. i really hope there's going to be a third one! so in the world of music, you can officially buy the "itunes pass" for the new DCFC album, "codes and keys" which excites me. this means that you get a few songs that are pass only, and get some songs released early. you are a tourist is the lead single for the album, and it's great. the "pass only" song i got this week is house is on fire, and i adore that song. also in music land, i discovered oh land and grace potter and the nocturnals. i love both bands and their music now. One more great song, tonight tonight by hot chelle rae. if you listen to the radio alot, you've probably heard it. i don't have too much to say today, i'm still in a blue/sad mood, so i don't really wanna talk about myself :P On a side note, i am offically addicted/hate/adore/loathe angry birds. I also found out that matched and heist society each have sequels coming out :)

Harder to Breathe

hello y'all. it's been a rough week for me, to say the least, but i really don't want to talk about any of that! it's been snowing like crazy here lately, but suddenly today the clouds broke, the sky turned bright blue, and it got up to 62. tomorrow it's supposed to get to 70, which is very exciting. today i went down to a gully with my friend berry, who some of you probably know as ali from her blog, flightless bird, american mouth. we haven't been down there since last summer, so it was nice to be back there! i took lots of pictures, including the one above. this weekend i tried a raspberry italian soda with cream at my favorite coffee shop and i fell in love. best (non-coffee) drink in the world!!! <3 <3 <3 it was delicious paired with my usual spicy chicken panini on cibatta. mmmmm :) my mouth waters just thinking about that tasty treat. tomorrow is friday, which i am immensely grateful for. and no i'm not going to reference some hidiously awful massacre of a song that has to do with a day that starts with an f because frankly, i'm tired of the attention that awful song is getting. i've been extremely addicted to coldplay lately. and christina perri. most of you have probably heard of christina perri through her song jar of hearts. itunes is releasing a single every week leading up to her new album, lovestrong. i discovered an artist, oh land, who i am beginning to adore. she has a song called son of a gun which i love. that's all i have to say for today... until next time

hello. i'm blue today, it happens. but today wasn't a bad day, i hung out with one of my best friends, amelia and then i went to my favorite coffee shop with my friend emma. i don't have much to sat... can't really think of anything. i didn't have school yesterday because it was end of term. bleh i'm really not in the mood to blog, but i will post pretty much my favorite lyrics at the moment below. i don't think i've ever related to a song more.

Hello everyone! i realized today hey, I have not blogged in a WHILE! the photo above is the cover for christina perri's new single arms, which is my song of the week. if y'all don't know i have a "weeklies" section, over there ---------> on a different note, i don't often use my own photography on here because.. well IDK why i don't but i take a lot of photographs considering i'm my school newspaper's photographer :p so my car is finally MY car.. which takes a lot of drama out of my life. long story short, i was supposed to get my car about 6 months ago but i didn't get it until now. it was pretty great to be able to put all my cd's in the disc changers and all over my back seat :) I did something that excites me- i got new sheets. this would not excite normal people, but i was getting really warm in my hot flannel snowman "let it snow!" sheets so i went and got some funky white blue and purple SOFFFFTTT sheets :) this makes me happy. I also DEEP CLEANED my room the other day and made everything all perty. I was at the store the other day and saw these pretty vintage looking birdcages and it gave me an idea. I'm gonna get a few small birdcages and put them around my room and fill them with stuff, paper cranes, colorful stones, maybe some plants, just make it look cool :) I've had a recent obsession with paper cranes ( which has nothing to do with linger) *ahem cough* but i've been folding them out of old homework, pieces of paper i've written songs on, ect. then i hang them from fishing line from my ceiling over my bed, and Wala, i have tons of paper cranes hanging from my ceiling. My room is pretty cool, if i do say so myself. All the furniture is dark and antique looking with keyholes, i have light green and blue walls, and dark hardwood floors. then i have a brown and blue rug, and a comfy spinny chair. I have about 400 pillows on my bed, and posters of paramore, relient k and paris all over my walls. To top it all off, i have a wall of my photography on black and white shiny paper covering wall. Finally, I have vintage vinyl's all over. mostly, i just have the vinyl's themselves hanging along the top off my walls, but one small wall has my favorite cases all down it. That's my room, in a nutshell. My friend just showed me this awesome cover of "bad romance" by lady gaga, so youtube halestorm's cover of it :)another great lady gaga cover? just dance by disco curtis. i saw them preform it live and it was AWESOME. OOH! I TOTALLY FORGOT TO MENTION THIS! this summer i am seeing relient k at the warped tour! WAHOO! it's a few days before my birthday, so it will be an awesome week :) last year i went to warped and say disco curtis, the pretty reckless, rocketship to the moon, dropkick murphies, and alot more! i didn't know if i was going to go this year, but then relient k announced they were coming so of course i must go!

I Believe in a thing called Love

so i've been really obsessed with imogen heap and regina spektor lately. don't know why, i've just been in the mood :) i read a new book called matched. it was really good, although kinda hard to stick to. just so ya know, i've decided to make a bunch of origami birds and hang them from my ceiling. we got a huge snow storm here tonight, which means the world is quiet besides the hum of my laptop and my music. i've been writing a lot lately, songs, working on my book, poetry... ect. i've also been drawing a lot.this may be random,but i hope paramore starts recording a new cd soon. and i hope demi lovato releases her new album soon. i'm glad she's doing better. i don't know why i decided to blog tonight, because i have nothing to say. something extremely exciting that has happened is i finally get my car as MY CAR this weekend. first thing i'm going to do is throw a million CD's in it and buy some unnecessary thing to hang from my rear-view mirror.

hi! i am so excited right now! i was at my grandparents house looking for a small leather bag and i found an old camera!!!! i am obsessed with photography, and i adore taking pictures. i'm the photographer for my school newspaper. the camera i got is the canon ae-1 and it's so cool! i still need to get film for it and clean it up a bit but this is it!!!

I lurrrvvv it <3 i don't have too much to say, even though it's been about a week since i last blogged. my toenail came of and it's really painful1! chuck was AMAZING this week! the sarah wedding dress scene is so adorable! ummm... i really don't have anything to say! besides my excitedness for my camera, so until next time...

hello. so i felt like talking about myself. (it is a blog :P) i thought i'd tell y'all some stuff that i love. i can't go a couple of hours without my i-pod. literally, i will start going crazy. music is the world to me. i love to sing, and secretly i dream of being a singer, but i only sing around people i know well. i love cats more than i love dogs, but that could just be because i grew up with them. i think the best sound in the entire world is the sound of a cat's purr traveling through the springs in your mattress as you fall asleep. i can identify which of my cats is which by the jingle of their bell before they're even in the same room. i like to go for rides and take pictures of the sun. everyone i know jokes that i have cat-dar. if they're a cat within 500 yards i'll find it and become best friends with it. my friends also joke that i have car-dar because i can find our car in a crowded parking lot without any trouble. i like german chocolate, and i adore drinking lemonade. i pretty much always order the same things every time i go to restaurants.i secretly love s-car-go but i feel really bad about it because i had a pet snail who was my best friend for a few years. i think my brother is the most brilliant person in the world, even though he doesn't really talk to me. i have a knack for writing songs, and i love glitterly lotion. old quilts are the best thing on any day, and i sleep under a million blankets even if it's 100 degrees outside. i love flannel nightgowns even though most people think they're for old ladies, and i can't function unless i sleep twice a day- once at night and once in the afternoon. that's a little about me.

hello. i really needed a break from homework so i decided to blog. i just finished doing 100 bullet points on a chapter in my history book, which was extremely monotonous and boring. then i went to the store and got some mango lemonade and dark chocolate reeses. kind of random, but we had no food and i hadn't had dinner.. what else am i supposed to eat at 9 o'clock at night? i've been taking pictures of the sunset recently, which is tons of fun :) i love the way the sun can make trees seem like silhouettes, and clouds look like wisps of lace. i haven't done anything spectacularly special lately, i've just been hanging out and listening to music :) on monday i am going to an advanced screening of beastly. ya know how sometimes "they" have crowds of people come watch movies a month or so before it's released so they can poll the audience and see if they should change anything? well that audience this time is me and my friends, so it's gonna be fun :) supposedly we're supposed to get a big snow storm tomorrow. i'm half YAY and half NAY. I love the snow, and i'm not quite ready to give up my long sleeved shirt collection for the year, but i am really tired of my school being cold. of course, i'll be cursing the heat in a few months because my school has no air conditioning... that will be fun. today in judo, we sword fought! it was really fun but the helmet i was wearing was like a giant fish bowl. i just realized that i have not updated my "weeklies" in over a week.. *gasp* but i'm far too sleep deprived and lazy to do it now. something random about me: when i get sleep deprived, i get really hyper. so today was an... interesting day at school. that's all for me today, i need to fall deep into a dream lull to remove the bags and purple thumbprints from under my eyes...

Chocolate

well hiya. right now i'm listening to chocolate by snow patrol, while eating chocolate. i'm not sure whether i find this ironic or amazing. when i was little i was obsessed with foxes. the picture of today's blog is an adorable fox that represents my slumber state of this weekend. prior to today that is, my brother woke me up today. this annoys me. i can't even begin to guess how many days i've tip-toed around the house trying not to wake him up, but he was all- GET UP (insert my full name here but i'm not blogging my full name because you never know what creepers are out there :)- and he opened my door and my cat came bounding in my room and sat on me. fantabulous. i think he just wanted me to clean the house before my parents got home. I'm like HELLO? YOU ARE JUST AS CAPABLE OF CLEANING AS I AM? but whatever. we got a HUGE snowstorm and that was awesome. i was driving home and all of the sudden- BAM- blizzard white out conditions. i was like.... um... i should probably head for my house. then i had to go down the steep hill to my house at 2 miles an hour and i was still sliding. it was bizarre! i am in the mood for bones today, maybe i'll have an ALL DAY BONES MARATHON! that sounds awesome to me! this weekend was a 4 day weekend for me which was awesome! basically, all my plans for this weekend were canceled so i sat around and did nothing- which was actually really relaxing and nice- so it ended up being a great weekend :) today i must do homework tho, which is never fun when you're all in i'm relaxed mode. well, that's all i have to say for today

hello everyone! it's been a while since i blogged, but i'm finally not sick! it's been such nice weather here lately that on sunday i just rolled down my windows, sat in the sun and blasted relient k, letting the sun saturate each and every strand of my hair. it was heavenly. on to the what's new? portion of my blog. since i last blogged, the grammy's happened. florence + the machine should have won best new artist, but other than that i was pretty happy with the awards. for the most part. the pretty reckless's new album, light me up came out. it's really good. i do have to say, slightly mature content so if your ears are easily scar-able don't check it out. if not, youtube it and tell me what you think :) on even more spectacular news, maggie stiefvater released the prologue of forever. it. was. amazing. i cried when i found out sam was leaving paper cranes in the trees. i picked out what songs i think should be used for what scenes in the movie when it is made. another amazing thing that happened was the ocean grove e.p. was released and it is AMAZING. my favorite so ng is we're still breathing, but i also love grab your coat.

hello everyone. i've been reeeaaallllyyy sick lately so i've spent the past few days in bed buried under a mound of tissues. but guess what! i felt well enough today to venture to the downstairs of my house with a new box of tissues, some ginger ale, and a paper bag for used tissues after i filled the trashcan next to the computer desk. it's been a blurred past few days, because mostly i've been out of it and sleeping. also, my taste buds are all out of whack. today, i had so me coffee and it tasted like toothpaste to me. it was a little weird. anyway, this blog won't be too long because i feel another nap coming on, but i just wanted to share with you an amazing cover of love the way you like (part II) by ariana grande. a. i think ariana grande has an amazing voice, b. i love this song, c. i love the way she covered this song. so, take a listen :-)

Broken Flowers

today i went out to lunch with my mom. There was a guy there who kept trying to get the waiter to change the T.V above their table to a sports game so he could watch it. i have a question: why would you go out to lunch just to watch T.V? isn't that some sort of blatant diss to your family? isn't that just like saying i know i'm with you but i'd rather be watching T.V? it kind of pissed me off. then he took his contact out and started licking it. it kinda freaked me out. but hey, i don't know how contacts work. tonight was a chick flick night. i really needed to cry, so i watched the last song. it made me bawl, basically. i love that movie. even though miley cyrus is in it, i think she actually did a decent job on it. the book is way better tho, if you've never read it. nicholas sparks is amazing. everybody always asks why i read that "chick lit crap" which kinda makes me angry. why should they care what books i read? it's my choice. anyway, then i watched the proposal, which is also a great movie. who doesn't like sandra bullock? now i'm watching blue crush, which i've never seen before. and, saturday night live. i adore saturday night live.

well hello. so, let's get right to the good stuff, shall we? the third book in the hush,hush series has a new title. it is now named silence, and i have to say i love the title. it comes out in october, and you can bet i'll be counting down the days until i can have it firmly in my hands. maggie steifvater (author of my favorite series, the mercy falls trilogy) is not only releasing forever july 12th, but she has a secret, untitled novel coming out this october. i can't wait for that! it seems like this is the year for books. new sarah dessen, new gayle freeman, 2 new maggie stiefvater books, and a new becca fitzpatrick :) not to mention, that in a mere 19 days the snippit of forever is being released. this all makes me quite happy. it seems i have come out of my funk, my rants, and my anxious nature for the week. sometimes all it takes is a good book and singing at the top of my lungs to clear my mind. almost. bones is new tonight, and it is supposed to be a great episode. there's a new serial killer, and he is supposed to be the "anti-booth" sort-of how the gravedigger was the "anti-bones." excited. on another note, i am going to dye my hair again soon. this time, i'm going to go a more vivid red. the red i have now is nice, but it only turns unnaturally red and copper-ish in the sunlight. so, back to the hairdresser with me. This photo is my inspiration this time around.




i kept trying to find a picture of the perfect color, and this is what i selected. i'll wait for my roots to show a little more before i go in, but i'm looking forward to the new color.

hello everyone. this week is spirit week at school, so i got to wear my PJ's to school yesterday. today was nerd day. over the weekend a bunch of my friends and i got together and made shirts that said .... NERD. so, i was a MUSIC NERD, obviously. it was fun. i put lyrics and songs on the front, lyrics on the sleeves, and bands on the back. my friends were a tech nerd, anime nerd, math nerd, and art nerd. then, we all wore 3D glasses with the lenses out, so they were just big black glasses that looked incredibly awesome. i also wore my hair in lopsided ponytails, with mismatching scrunchies. tomorrow is blast from the past, and i have no idea what i am going to wear. i might wear my dad's old grateful dead t-shirt. :) apparently my teachers all decided that nerd day meant -let's assign lots of homework- day. my english teacher has some idea that if he assigns us an essay and calls it a mini essay, he can give us one day to get it done. his expectations are extremely high, and now i have to write a multi page mini essay overall, this week has been hard. so far this has been pretty much the hardest week i've had for non-school reasons in a while. plus now there's a thing about germs on the tv and it's freaking me out. sigh. i really need a vacation. from life. i need to be able to go lie on a beach, all by myself and soak up the sun. that's what i would love right now, but it is freezing cold and snowing outside. not that i don't appreciate the snow, i do. technically i live in a desert, so the snow= water and water= no drought this summer, which rarely happens, that we DON'T have to conserve water and let our lawns go brown. it's kind of ironic, the whole we get TONS of snow yet we live in a desert thing. but, hey that's just how it is. i got sick at school today, and had to walk home. which wouldn't have been a big deal, except for the fact that i had no jacket and i kept falling down on the slippery, non-plowed roads. which is also, ironic considering the snow plows wake me up ever morning. sorry, i'm a little bitter today, so that will be my mini rant. I re-read linger- again. i love that book SO much. favorite series? the mercy falls trilogy. i can not WAIT for valentines day when the excerpt from forever is released. :) something that i mentioned, a few posts back was the pretty reckless's album, light me up not being available in the u.s yet. well, it was announced that it is being released february 8th! this excites me. if you're looking for a great song, or two, check out my "lyric of the week" song and my "song of the week." if you really wanted, you could also check out my "album of the week" because they are all amazing :) i guess, perhaps i should start on my "mini-essay" and my chem homework... so until next time...

well hello again. so chuck returned last night and it was an amazing episode! it was such a charah episode so that made me happy! but then it had a really sad ending.. and well... if you haven't seen it yet i'm not giving more away. basically it was just awesome. while on the topic of tv, this thursday bones returns and it's supposed to be THE brennan/booth episode :) soooo excited! so if you watch bones be sure NOT to miss this episode. today was the first day of my new term and it was strange. a bunch of my classes changed, and my friends aren't in a lot of my classes now. it's been unusually warm here (for january) and that's made me happy, it's been nice to have a break from the constant bitter cold. i really want to know when the pretty reckless's new cd, light me up comes out! it's been out in the u.k for a few months now, and i'm debating just ordering it off of amazon because this is getting ridiculous. i really want to start a new art project i thought of, but i don't have everything i need for it so i can't start yet. this is frustrating me. maybe i'll be able to find a notebook buried deep in some of my old school stuff.. i'll post pictures when i start working on it. well, i guess that's it for now...

i had a four day weekend this weekend, which makes me extremely happy. especially considering how hard last week was. it's a new term, which means i switch some classes. most of all, i'm excited for my psychology class. i think it will be awesome :) i haven't really done much this weekend, just relaxed, drove and hung out with berry. we made CAN'T STOP DANCING! shirts which are truly, amazing. if you've ever read keeping the moon by sarah dessen, a shirt norman wears in it says CAN'T STOP DANCING! and it cracked us up, and instantly became a inside joke between berry and i. so there you go, i have a CAN'T STOP DANCING! shirt. i got a really comfy new purple shirt today. just thought i'd share that. also, i think i'll be re-dying my hair red soon. brighter, more firetruck red this time :) so some exciting news. sarah desesn has a new book called what happened to goodbye? coming out. already preordered, don't worry :) also, gayle freeman wrote a sequel to if i stay, which i had no idea about. both of these books come out this spring, which makes me extremely happy and excited. i've been freaking myself out a little too much lately. you know all of those ghost story shows? well i watch them. and i adore them, but i get totally freaked out. once you've had a ghost encounter you tend to believe in these things ;) not that i don't think some of it is staged or just a lie but still. these shows fascinate me. i guess that's all i have to say for now! oh, i updated the weekly's on my blog, so check those out :)

What the Hell?

So, avril lavigne's new single came out today. it's called what the hell and i love it. it's pretty great. so, you should check it out. plus, the phrase what the hell just sorta sums up my week. i'm super streessed because it's end of term, but i 'm dealing with it. today i went to starbucks with my mom and got some hot cocoa and a red velvet cupcake. for those of you who are wonder, the cocoa was great (duh) but the cupcake was meh. the cupcake itself tasted like cardboard. the frosting was delicious tho. for those of you who, you know really care about my obscure quest for the perfect cupcake. and i found it. THE PERFECT CUPCAKE, that is. at a little cupcake shop called diva's. they have these amazing lemon and cream cheese cupcakes that i could literally live off of. but they don't make them anymore. so i have to go through the search of once again finding the perfect cupcake. so guess what. maggie stiefvater is releasing a excerpt from FOREVER on VALENTINES DAY!!! oh my god. i am so excited! i can not wait for not only that, but the release of it! and also, sarah dessen's new book, WHAT HAPPENED TO GOODBYE.super excited. :D well, that's a bright spot on this dreary week. I suppose i should try to numb my headache and fall asleep at some point.. so until next time..

The New Year

so this is the new year... and i don't feel any different... the first lines of the chorus of the new year by death cab for cutie :) the first song i listened to in 2011. i kicked of my 2011 by snowshoeing at midnight and then promptly smacking my head hard on a tv in a truly me fashion. so far 2011 has been very hectic with the whole end-of-term-next-week-and-all thing. i think it's ridiculous that they bring us back from winter break only to have 2 weeks left in the term. it just feels frivolous and strange. and what was up with my winter break? some kids are still on their winter break and i didn't get out until late? just strange. christmas was good. i got some comfy and awesome stuff, but my favorite thing of all was the psych bobble heads. if you don't know what psych is, then you need to jump on the psych band wagon right now- you won't regret it. if you do, and you don't know what the bobble heads are, look it up on usa network.com right now. i couldn't be more happy that today is a friday. i feel so exhausted and in need of a break even though i've been back in school for only a week. this also appears to be a week for emotional breakdowns. not only a very hard day for me a few days ago, but for everyone around me seems to be bawling out of nowhere. so 2011 hasn't kicked of with a bang, but i'm sure that it'll even out. 2011 will be a great year. *knock on wood* with that said, i'm getting a killer migrane and i hear a good book calling...
